RECOGNITION
Context
Armèlle is built around the hand.
The fingerless glove is an unusual object: functional enough to justify itself, decorative enough to be a decision. It sits on the wrist where a watch sits and on the fingers where rings sit, which means it has to survive comparison with jewellery while still being made of leather and cut to a pattern. That tension is the brand.
European sourcing and Spanish production keep the work close to the material. Every decision — hide, weight, hardware, finish — is made where it can be touched.
Origin
I started Armèlle because I wanted to know whether I could take something from a material to a customer without handing any part of it to someone else. Sourcing, production, identity, the site, the images, the sale. Not because doing everything is efficient — it isn’t — but because every handover is a place where the intention leaks out.
Five years in, the useful discovery is how much the parts inform each other. A sourcing constraint changes the image. A buyer’s reaction changes the next sample. You only see that if you are standing in all the rooms.
Development
Materials and components were sourced across Europe and production coordinated in Spain, with sample rounds run against what suppliers could genuinely hold at volume rather than what looked correct on a first prototype.
The commercial and visual structure followed: identity, e-commerce, editorial image, and selected physical activations — each one a different answer to the same question of how the product should be met.

Activation
Armèlle was presented through a dedicated pop-up at LenzWerk Monaco during the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix.
A pop-up is a test the internet cannot run. Online, the glove is an image at a fixed size. In a room, people pick it up, try it on the wrong hand, ask what the leather is, and decide in about four seconds. Monaco during the Grand Prix is an unusually concentrated version of that test — an international audience, no context provided, no second chance.
Current status
Ongoing. Product development, sourcing and commercial development continue across France and Spain.
